ABOUT MILLAA MILLAA
Located approx. 43 km South to South East of Atherton, Millaa Millaa is an Aboriginal word meaning “many waters”and reflects the high rainfall rates of the area. Situated in the heart of some of the most picturesque dairying country in Australia, it is surrounded by undulating green pastures, beautiful rainforest and the place where “The Waterfall Circuit” starts.
If you travel east from Millaa Millaa approx 60 km along the Palmerston Highway, you will arrive at Innisfail on the coast. Take the south west route and you will travel along the East Evelyn or Old Palmerston Hwy to Ravenshoe and Herberton.
The small town of Millaa Millaa serves the surrounding rural community. With the breathtaking views over the Tablelands and towards the coast Millaa Millaa is becoming a popular destination for southern tourists.
Facilities include Post Office, General Store, Fuel and Primary School.
